Caution! Skip over this one if you don't want to hear me venting.
I had my first meltdown today...
I'm not sure if it was because my hands have blisters on them from making my bouquets, I woke up at 3am today, today is the exact two week mark of me being sick, or the fact that my wedding venue continues to screw me over time after time...
or a combination of them all perhaps?
I'm pretty sure this all came crashing down on me today because I FINALLY got everything planned out as far as my budget. I made it so EVERYTHING fit in (because we were above the budget). I finally had everything all nicely planned out today (this literally fell into place TODAY) and now that planning is ruined.
Hasta lavista major progress.
I don't think I am ever going to get over this sickness because of all this stress.
maybe my next post will be a happy one...

DIabY: DO IT all by YOURSELF
As most of you know, I like to be creative. I'm not saying "As most of you know I am the most creative person ever!". I'm just saying that I am sure you all assumed I would be doing a lot of the wedding decorating myself. Well now I am here to tell you that I am doing absolutely ALL the decorating myself. I'd like to sit here and say this was due to my budget and decorating myself was a lot cheaper, but that really isn't the case.
Im a control freak when it comes to my own visions.
I don't trust myself to get the right words out to convey what I want. I don't trust people to comprehend the awesomeness that will come of my ideas. I have a problem telling someone "No, that centerpiece is ugly!" (I'm pretty sure this comes from almost 3 years at As You Wish... "What? No! That is the cutest mug I have seen come through here today!". And I definitely don't want my wedding to look like someone else's.
Anyways, before I was even proposed to, I had my wedding vision in my brain. I had all these ideas for making the centerpieces, the cake topper, my bouquets, etc. And I was loving every minute of the vision I was seeing.
And then I was introduced to Pinterest...
Now I have tons and tons of things to incorporate into my wedding decorations. I'm adding things, re-thinking things, and replacing things. I have all these supplies I now need to buy, and all of these ideas I now need to make come alive. I love it, but I also hate it. The top of my wedding website says "98 days to go!"...
shit.

Is it too late to turn around?
Being the forgetful person that I am, I decided a blog might be the perfect thing to help me remember just how much fun I had planning my wedding. Too bad I thought of this too late in the game, and my fun has already run out... but here goes anyways.
We put a deposit down for our wedding date on Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. Without having that date secured, I was only "window shopping" around for different vendors (caterers, DJ, photographer, etc.). After securing the date, I scurried around like a pig with it's head cut off to contact everyone (I say pig because I actually sat in my computer chair for hours and hours rather then running around. Safe to assume I was more like a pig then a chicken). With Thanksgiving just two days away, I didn't get very many responses from places and began to worry, worry, worry!
Thanksgiving came, I came down with the flu later that day, and shopped all night long till I dropped (when I definitely shouldn't have). With me being sick, and constantly stressing about this wedding, I have not been able to shake it, and I am still pretty sick today... with my birthday just a few days away :(
Got a response from my venue's preferred caterer. My budget for food was around $3000 to $3500, and I had gotten their prices from their site and calculated it out to be around $3000. Contacted them to see how accurate my estimate was, and BAM.... $5000 for food. Really? Really! They wanted to charge me two separate labor fees of $800 each, an arm and a leg for actual plates (because apparently their $20 a plate food comes with paper plates and napkins, and plastic utensils), and an additional $200 so they can stick my food on RISERS so it's not just sitting on the table.
I've never been so turned off with a company in my whole life.
Safe to say, I hate them now. And I won't be going with them. Mom found someone else who is offering a lot of bang for our buck. My wedding coordinator now has to tack on an extra $500 kitchen fee since it's not their preferred caterer, AND our caterer can't even use their kitchen. Yes, you read that sentence right the first time. That's okay though, because we will still be under budget even with that fee.
Thank God, now maybe my cold sores can go away? Yeah right...
